Wega is currently a medium business enterprise – But growing all the time. We know our industry – About 90 per cent of our annual revenue is currently derived from the mining industries. Furthermore, we give our clients absolutely peace of mind with mutual & federal public and third party liability cover of R10 million.

 

OUR CUSTOMERS CURRENTLY CONSIST OF MINING & CIVIL ENGINEERING COMPANIES, WHICH INCLUDE:

Anglo Coal: WEGA has dedicated maintenance and installation teams working on each of Anglo Coal’s thermal coal sites. These teams are available to repair breakdowns around the clock and attend to general maintenance and installations of HDPE pipe.


Andru Mining: WEGA Thermo Fusion started working for Andru Mining at Shanduka
Uitkyk opencast in 2011. WEGA was responsible for all the piping and dewatering in the opencast section. Our successful operation lead to us taking over at Andru Mining Inyanda Opencast, Andru Mining Glisa Opencast, Andru Mining Steelcoal, and Andru Mining RuighoekRustenburg.Uitkyk opencast in 2011. QUALITY

Wega thermo fusion supplies only sabs-approved pipes to our customers. We stock all hdpe pipe size ranges, and will also provide our customers with professional advice on which type of HDPE pipe is best suited for their specific application (type of material, flow rate, environmental conditions, pressure ratings etc.) Furthermore, our quality management system makes use of a unique numbering classification. When welds are being done, all certified plasticians number their welds and careful records are kept.

 

Environmental responsibility

This is assisted by our Environmental Management System, which currently ensures all scrap and leftover shavings and pipe are collected and recycled. We also have an integrated waste management plan in place. This ensures the correct disposal of hazardous material, and the removal of waste to the designated zones, as per the client’s waste management policy.

HEALTH POLICIES AND HUMAN RESOURCES


Our equity policies extend to health objectives. We aim to ensure the non-discrimination between individuals in the workplace with HIV/AIDS and those without. We also aim to promote appropriate and effective ways of managing HIV/AIDS in the workplace. Furthermore, WEGA Thermo Fusion has a substance abuse policy in place, which aims to correct unacceptable employee behaviour regarding substance abuse applicable to health and safety requirements in the workplace. Our aim is to improve our employees’ quality of life by preventing accidents on site, and ensuring they work accepted hours with appropriate breaks for their health but still maintaining WEGA’s productivity.


WEGA Thermo Fusion make use of SEESA, they handle our day to day HR requirements and skills development for our employees.


All our people, vehicles and equipment comply with the Occupational Health and Safety (OCSA) ACT of 1993. Our welders are trained and accredited by the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA). We also have a Safety Management System whereby Wega Thermo Fusion works under our different mining contractor’s packs and adheres to all safety standards as prescribed by the Mine Health and Safety Act of 1996. Since 2010 we have be thrilled to have zero incidents of harm to anybody on our site reported. This is a number we aim to keep!
